Over Sixties Climb III , Liathach
Grivel Dragonne Long
Standard leash for hillwalking and mountaineering axes. Comes with adjustable wrist loop and rubber protector which will fit on both the ferrel spike and pick.
Black Diamond Slider Leash
The Slider is a simple webbing leash with small metal barrel which cinches down to tighten the padded wrist strap. Suitable for all types of axe.
Dmm Standard Leash
Straight forward leash suitable for all types of axe. Metal slider barrel cinches down to tighen wrist strap. Leash attatches at head of axe.
Black Diamond Lockdown Leash
The lock down leash acts like a slipknot on the padded wrist strap, securing the leash to the wrist and giving good support. Attatches to the head of the axe with buckle and also to the shaft by a loop which assists in loosening the leash when removing hand. ie to place gear. Suitable for climbing axes rather than general mountaineering axes.
Dmm Chockhold Leash
The Chockhold attaches to the head of the axe with a buckle, and to the shaft by a loop of webbing which makes it slightly easier to loosen the wrist strap 'chockhold' when secured to the wrist. This is the standard leash which comes with the Dmm Flys.
Petzl Charlet Free-Lock
The Free-Lock works in exactly the same way as both the DMM Chockhold and the BD Lockdown. One difference is the Free-lock has a more ergonomically shaped wrist strap which fits nicly when tight on the wrist on steep terrain. It also tends to release a bit easier than the Dmm Chockhold which you may or may not like.
This is the most popular Leash of its type that we sell.
Black Diamond Android Leash
The Android leash allows you to free your hands from your tools without removing wrist loops, making it easier to place gear. This is done quickly and easily by a metal quick release clip halfway down the shaft. The wrist loops are well padded to give extra stable support and comfort.
The leashes are attaches to the head of the tool with a buckle and secured down the shaft (at the clip end) with a Jubilee style fixing which holds the leash in place when clipping and unclipping.
The Android will fit on virtually any technical tool .
These are the Clipper leashes that come standard with the Rebel tools. They attach via a small wire gate carabiner to the hole in the tools shaft. Quick and simple. They will only fit on technical tools with a hole in the shaft sufficiently big enough for the Krab. ie Grivel X Monsters. They come in left and right handed.
Left or Right
Grivel Double Spring Simple
Clever idea from those innovative Italians at Grivel. The Double spring attaches to either harness, bandolier or rucksac straps via a carabiner at one end, and attaches to both axes at the other ends also using carabiners. The Leash is elasticated so doesn't restrict movement when doing contorted moves. If the ferrel (bottom of shaft) has'nt got a big enogh hole to accomadate the wire gates ie (Grivel Alp Wing) then a small loop of tape or cord can be fitted to attach the carabiners .
If you are thinking of converting to leashless climbing but worry about possibly dropping an axe then the Double Spring prevents your tool ending up at the bottom of the Crag!
Carabiners not included
Gives increased control and balance to technical tools on difficult ice and mixed terrain. Gives more stability when moving through on low or marginal placements. Attaches to grip on shaft so index finger sits comfortably in the Trigger.
Please note it can be a bit of a battle to fit the Trigger to your axe so patience and a vice or molegrips is highly recommended.
Comes in 2 sizes but have found that the yellow (small) is only suitable for Grivel Taa-k-oons. The Black (large) is suitable for most other shafts.
The Horn is an easy to fit Pommel which supports and protects the hand/knuckles on steep ice/mixed routes. Works well with the Grivel Trigger for leashless climbing. Fits most Grivel tools.
Please note that the Horn is not for belaying off or resting on with ropes looped over.
