Serenity, the lightest single rope in the world is only made possible with COATINGfinish®. During this finishing process, the individual fibers are being stabilized with Teflon. This minimizes the abrasion between the fibers and improves slippage. The stress is evenly distributed to all fibers and the rope can withstand greater forces. This process improves the service life, optimizes handling through a uniform grip, and provides high dirt and water resistance. Serenity, the lead product of the Mammut rope range is, of course, in addition to the COATINGfinish® also equipped with the exclusive Mammut superDRY® and duraFLEX® (new) processes and therefore, offers the best in technology.
It must be pointed out that Serenity is intended for use in on sight and red point climbing due to its reduced sheath proportion. This rope is not suitable for work-out climbing and top roping since these applications reduce the service life of the product considerably based on the increased material abrasion. Ultralight and ultra thin 8mm Dyneema tubular slings are a great step forward in sling technology. With a strength of 22KN (the same as standard nylon sling) but at a fraction of the weight you can shave those extra grams of your rack. They come in three lengths. The 60 cm sling when doubled makes a great extendable quickdraw. The 180 cm sling is ideal for threads and putting over spikes. The 180 cm sling makes the perfect lightweight 'Cordelette' for setting up and equalizing multi-point belays.
