Pod Black Ice

Pod's Excellent winter mountaineering and Alpine sac has been updated and is now using the latest in lightweight and bombproof materials. A firm favourite for Scottish winter climbing due to its slimline but extremely rugged construction. The sacs side compression straps can reduce the capacity so the sac can be used for cragging and short days on the hill, but on the other hand when the floating lid is used the sac increases in size by up to 10-12 litres making it big enough for bivi gear and food for several days climbing in the alps or the UK. The Black Ice also has a detachable padded waist belt which can be removed when climbing to give easy access to your harness. In its place is a nylon strap to hold the sac in place. This is entirely optional and as the padded waist belt has gear loops alot of people like to keep it on while climbing.
The hood and framesheet can also be removed , thus considerable reducing weight and bulk if required.
