|Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.|
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.
We accept Visa and Mastercard. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

|Back Orders We are a small independant retailer and as such do not use electronic stock control so we cannot integrate our online sales with shop sales. Inevitably we may therefore sometimes sell out of an item that is still on the website. Please note this is rare. Generally we will have replacment stock soon after but there is always the chance that our supplier will also be out of stock.If your order is not in stock, we will place your item on back order for you. We shall contact our supplier of that particular item and let you know via email or phone how long you will wait for your order. You will also have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.|
|Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.|
|Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.|

|Returns Policy Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm|
You are fully entitled to cancel and return your order within 7 working days from the day after receipt of the goods. Please be aware that 'working days' is defined as all days other than Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. If you would like to return goods to us under the 7 day cooling off period then Macpherson Mountaineering require all items to be returned with original packaging and in good working order. We shall also refund your shipping cost charged by us. However you the customer shall be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to Macpherson Mountaineering. Because of this we recommend using Royal mail 'Recorded Delivery' or Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' both of which are tracked to destination. Always ask for a' poof of postage' receipt
UN-USED NON FAULTY GOODS
Unused non-faulty items that have been in your possession for more than one month may be returned at our discretion.(Please note this will generally depend on whether the item you are returning is still one that we stock and whether it is current model or not). If the returned items were originally sent out to you free post then we will refund the cost of the item minus the cost to us of the original postage. Please contact via phone or email prior to returning any such goods to us.
All faulty goods under warranty can be returned to us. We shall then return these goods to the manufacturer who will evaluate the goods by inspection or testing.If the goods are accepted as faulty then they will be repaired or replaced free of of charge. The time this takes can vary from company to company but on average takes between one and four weeks.
All returned items MUST be clean. Macpherson Mountaineering will not accept clothing that is dirty/smelly. This includes boots which must be free of dirt. (Please spare a thought for the people at the other end who have to handle these items.) Please wash clothing or in the case of boots make sure the tread (sole unit) is free of mud/dirt which can be done with a scrubbing brush.
UK CUSTOMERS .We will refund your postage within the UK to a reasonable amount. We would recommend Parcel force which offers Insurance at a reasonable price. If you choose a premium postage option then we will refund what you would have paid had you used the cheaper option!) Please note we cannot accept any claim for any other extra costs involved arising out of a faulty item, other than return postage).
OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS. Macpherson mountaineering will not refund shipping costs incurred due to the return of faulty items. Please bear this in mind before ordering from us.
